Standard Surf Lessons
Our Standard Surf Lessons are for anyone aged 7 and over; you will book spaces on a scheduled lesson of up to 8 surfers. Our Standard Surf Lessons are aimed at novices, with all tuition geared accordingly.
You will start your lesson with some beach safety, progressing to being shown how to get on a surfboard and ride waves. Once you are happy, we will take to the water. Our expert coaches will guide you through how to catch your first wave, offering individual feedback and advice. With all Standard Surf Lessons, our aim is to share our passion for surfing and have you riding your first waves, wanting to come back for more!

Standard Surf Lesson

Should you prefer a lesson with a dedicated instructor, and no other members of the public, then we have a couple of fantastic options for you. Our Private Surf Lessons are 1 to 1 sessions, designed for maximum progression for individual surfers. Our Friends & Family Surf Lessons are especially popular with family groups, and parents of young children. With a Friends & Family Surf Lesson you can share the surfing experience with up to 7 friends or family members (groups of 8 in total), and have an instructor all to yourselves.
Friends & Family Lessons
Our Friends & Family Surf Lessons are available for couples, groups of mates and family gatherings. Our Friends & Family Surf Lessons can be geared to any skill level. All our instructors are extremely competent and can work with you to coach beginner, intermediate, and advanced surfers.
For safety reasons, we must start lessons with some beach safety, and should you need it, some tips on getting on your surfboard. We will then hit the waves for some fun. For novice surfers, our expert coaches will guide you through how to catch your first wave, offering individual feedback and advice. For intermediate and advanced surfers, we will spend more time improving your existing skills with tailored and level-specific advice.
We can also help you set some surf goal to work on if you’re hiring equipment from us, and surfing in your free time. We will always be here if you’d like to receive more coaching, the learning never stops.

Private Surf Lessons
Private Lessons are one to one learning experiences and are totally personalised to you; it’s the best option for focused tuition and maximum progression.
This is the right lesson type to choose if you would like to progress and have surfing goals that you’re working towards. You’ll receive an injection of dedicated coaching, detailed feedback on your technique, and a roadmap for continued development. This private lesson will maximise your progression in a short amount of time.

Junior Surf Lessons
Throughout the summer holidays, we offer our dedicated Junior Surf Lessons for 7-14 year olds. All the same awesome fun and same great rate as our Standard Surf Lesson, but tailored to our younger surfers. All surfers need to be over 7 years old and must be able to swim 50 meters in open water.

Frequently Asked Questions
I've had a few surf lessons before, what would you recommend?
If you’re looking for a sociable and fun surf experience, with the guidance of a surf coach in a group setting, we would recommend joining a Standard Surf Lesson.
When you’re ready to take your surfing to the next level, we recommend having a Private lesson so that you can really get the full attention of your instructor where every wave can be analysed.
What safety precautions are taken?
All of our surf coaches are ISA certified, Life Guard trained and First-Aid qualified. You are in very good hands when you’re out in the water.
Do I need to know how to swim?
If you cannot swim more than 100 metres, you will need to make this known on your Activity Waiver. Please also confirm with your instructor before the start of your lesson. You can still learn to surf in waist-deep water, although in these circumstances, we recommend that you have a Private Surf Lesson.
